This weekend is just perfect for a wholesome day...


Sunday really is going to be sunny this weekend. Lovely weather for a nice drive, a brisk walk, an ocean view, a corn maze, a pumpkin patch, picking berries and a petting zoo. It's all very wholesome. The bus is rarin' to go and it's the right time of the year to visit our neighbors to the south. Half Moon Bay beckons us to indulge in their humble culture. The bus aches to be let loose on the freeway and the challenging mountain roads. The berries are so ripe they leap into your basket... and the animals long for your touch and those shitty wafer things that the rednecks rook you 50 cents a handful for. But the beaches are beautiful and Krob will play music that will feel like Prosac and you'll have so much fun in the corn maze that you'll get a rash.

Meet at the SilverCrest Donut Shop (which hasn't changed AT ALL since 1960) Sunday morning at 10:00. Don't park your car in their lot, park on the street.

We will return at like 7:00 or so.

It's a donation, but the bus has been really expensive this summer and I'm not working because I'm running for Mayor and no I can't live off campaign donations so please be generous.

Please bring your children, but not your dogs. Please do not call me at 10:30 and ask me to pick you up.

So many other highlights: lost in the maze with Neives and Robin, proudly giving up.
Fording the pumpkin river with Dann and Lane, then gazing in awe at the rustics' hideous beast-god ape statue
Of course, every word out of Pete Goldie's Golden Throat
Cute babies! Somewhat cute slightly older than babies!
Picking the poison berries with Hal, neither of us putting "tastes like tomatoes" with "purple berries" together and adding up "nightshade," eating them, calling poison control on the Witch's advise, and chicken eulogizing me as i slowly died...
The slow motion no dialog movie scene with Ben in the golden sunlight while "Your Song" played and the most beautiful parts of california spread out behind and around us...
Sunset on the beach, seaweed bullwhips, Dann and I fretting over our cell phones all the while....
Being completely surrounded by paparazzi with cameras and video for 10 minutes as the sun sunk...
tasty al fresco lunch and political debates with Tracy and Don.....
Neives cocoa, still hot after 14 hours.
And of course.....Robin Frohardt. Just Robin Frohardt.

Here is my weak, technologically-challenged attempt at posting photos. I don't know what happened exactly but they aren't in order and they're not all there. I think because I just have the loser version of flickr which only let's you load 200 at a time and Christ I had over 300 at least. Jesus. How annoying. Sorry. But I got some cute ones of the kids. Now that's wholesome!
